PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS for your NEW MINIATURE ROSES!
Immediately remove plastic bag from around the potted plants. Water well and set outside in a sunny, but not hot, location. Morning sun with afternoon shade is ideal. Small pots will dry out rapidly in the heat so keep them well watered.
When ready to plant, pick a location with at least six hours of sun, to full sun. Dig a 12” wide by 12” deep hole. (You may use an 8”or 10” hole if you want to keep your mini rose bushes smaller and more compact.) Remove soil from the hole and mix 50/50 with potting soil or peat moss. If you have poor soil, remove all and replace with potting soil.
Water in well and in a week start a bi-weekly fertilizer program. Follow label directions. Miracle Gro or Peters in liquid form is best. (Do not use granular fertilizer the first year.)
FOR PLANTING IN POTS:
Choose 8” to 12” pots depending on the eventual plant size desired. Use 50/50 good soil/potting soil or straight potting soil.
Miniature Roses may be trimmed lightly through the summer for shaping.
Winter/Spring pruning: we recommended trimming ½ of the miniature rose back.
